Decorated Knight makes his comeback in the Winter Derby Trial at Lingfield.
Decorated Knight had a wonderful season last year and was unlucky not to be unbeaten in his final 3 races. When he won the G3 Meld stakes he didn’t have the best trip but showed a very handy turn of foot to put the race to bed in a short period of time. He may need that today, with seemingly not much pace on in the race. Since his last race, he has put on a lot of condition and is a stronger horse all over, and we hope he can progress again this year. He has had 205 days off whilst a lot of these have been running through the winter, so it is understandable that he may need this race more than the rest of them. This race has always been the plan, as we look to see his wellbeing before we decide whether he is off to Dubai at the end of the month for the Jebel Hatta (G1) on the 4th March or whether he remains in the UK for the Winter Derby itself. It will be great to see him back on the track in what appears to be one of the hottest races run on the all-weather for a while!
