After a successful foray in Dubai with Decorated Knight in the G1 Jebel Hatta we are back to Wolverhampton with Yuften
Decorated Knight put in a taking performance last Saturday to win in Dubai. It was not so much the opposition that he beat, but his will to win, and where he won from. The plan from stall 1 was to get some cover and for a number of reasons, he just got edged back a little further than Andrea would have liked on a slow pace. Once in the clear he showed a good turn of foot and picked Folkswood up, who had had an easy lead. He is getting the job done from tricky positions and his confidence is growing. He has had a good week since and we are 2 weeks away from a shot at the very valuable Dubai Turf over 9f, which used to be the Dubai Duty Free when Cityscape won it in 2012.
Yuften has only run twice for us and on his second start he was a good winner of the very valuable Balmoral handicap at Ascot on Champions Day. Today he starts his season at Wolverhampton over 7f. We have been looking at the Lincoln as a possible race for him and thought it would be good for him to have a run before, whilst at the same time it would be great if he could pick up some black type for his owners as he is out of their foundation mare and from the family of Lady Nouf, Nouriya and Aljazzi. He has been 4th in a G1 and a G3 but needs to get in the 3 to enhance the page. After the race we will be better able to make the decision which way he goes. Like all our horses day 1 of the season is not D Day but hopefully he can run a good race.
